魁北克政府希望一些新的科技能够鼓励司机停车回复手机短信。
魁省交通运输部宣布，在全省各地7条高速路上设置Wi-Fi短信区，鼓励司机在该区域停车回复短信，避免因边开车边回复短信而酿成车祸。
魁省高速Wi-Fi短信区具体地点： - Baie-de-Maskinongé in Maskinongé on Highway 40 E;
- Cap-de-Pierre, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures on Highway 40 E;
- Chaudière-Appalaches, Lévis near Saint-Nicolas on Highway 20 E;
- Melbourne on Highway 55 in both directions;
- Memphrémagog in Magog on Highway 10 in both directions;
- Porte-du-Nord, in St. Jerome on Highway 15 in both directions;
- Rigaud on Highway 40 in both directions.
- Three more zones are planned on Highways 40 and 20:
- Point-du-Jour, in Lavaltrie on Highway 40 in both directions;
- Rivière-Beaudette on Highway 20 E;
- Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse on Highway 20 E.
Wi-Fi短信区非常容易发现：大大的绿色标识牌，上有Wi-Fi，Texto和Halte字样。
魁省交通部长Robert Poëti说，新的技术将鼓励司机靠边停车，休息检查路线和回复短信。
