Just get a call from Videotron, they force me to cut down my internet traffic to 100GB/month, which I subscribe the extreme high speed package
(supposed to be unlimited D/L and U/L traffic). The videotron guy said any internet traffic over 100GB/month will be considered as an "ABUSE to
Videotron".
This statement really piss me off. If I calculate this amount as 100GB /30days/24hours/3600seconds, it will be 40kb/s (including download and upload at the same time), even dial-up access has higher brandwidth than that.
According to the service statements, Videotron suppose to provide a speed up to 4 mb/s downloading and 640 kb/s uploading. If I can download in 4mb/s, It just takes 7 hours to exceed 100GB. I don't know why they said this package is UNLIMITED and extremely high speed.
This videotron guy even said my usuage jeopardize Videotron's network, If a
50kb/s traffic can crash Videotron, it just proves Videotron's system is so cranky.
So, before you guys join the Videotron and screw up for one year, please think twice: "Videotron's service is NOT UNLIMITED, and Videotron can terminate your service contract whenever they wish."
