There were heavy rains in Montreal on August 9, and many basements were flooded.
Things to note when flooding your basement⚠️
1) Attention ❗️ Immediately cut off the power supply in the basement, and use a temporary power supply to connect the basement drainage pump to drain water; (Attention ❗️ safety and prevent electric shock ❗️)
2) After drainage, use a dehumidifier and a fan to remove moisture from the basement as much as possible to prevent mold from forming (it takes about 3-5 days);
3) After removing the moisture from the basement, dilute it with bleach and 50% water, and carry out comprehensive mildew prevention and mildew removal treatment on the basement;
4) Take photos of the damaged parts in time to collect evidence so that you can contact the house insurance company for compensation.
