非常感谢两位，一台手提电脑，WINDOWS XP 中文版，好象其他网站都能上，只有HOTMAIL进不去，WINDOWS MIDIA PLAYER 不能用。

Are you using Internet Explorer or Firefox? Do you have the proper Hotmail login/pwd? What error messages do you get? Give us more details.

WMP:
You said "不能用". Give us more details. What error messages did you get? Can you open movies/mp3 using other players? Did you install the proper codecs? Did you try to download and install the latest Windows Media Player (WMP 10)?

刚发现新问题sinoquebec thread message不能打任何信息，但 title 可以，不知咋回事？谢谢！

wmp 提示：内部错误 an internal application error has occurred，已更新wmp10。real player, 暴风可以用。谢谢！

Try to clear your browser cache/history. If it still fails, try to flush DNS cache.

Try to uninstall WMP. Restart computer. Install WMP again.

Hotmail works with others now, but not Internet Explorer.

我曾碰到过这种情况，是因为使用了Raspos???作为Bell登录的东东，结果IP包长度被限制死了，以至于有些需要拆包的路由器没法通过。
try:
ping -l 1500 www.hotmail.com
看看有没有反应，没有的话把1500改小，直到有响应，对没有所有没法去的网站都try。
解决方案就是换一个拨号软件。

Officially the MTU for PPPoE connection should be 1492. mind game, if you are using Bell Sympatico, make sure you set this MTU in your router AND your Windows XP as well. If you are not using router, but connect to your ADSL modem directly, set MTU to 1480 in Windows XP.

btw, are you running BT while going to Hotmail?

sissi_zeng, you also remind me a similar problem I had before. I can go to many web sites, but not Nissian Canada and Futureshop!! After I apply the following setting, my problem is gone. I'm not sure if it is related to the Hotmail problem, but the following does not hurt your system anyway because Windows XP will use the system default value:

1. Open regedit.exe
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
3. Delete the DWORD value "DisableUserTOSSetting"
4. Restart computer.
