标题: **HELP!**royal victoria hospital 妇产科医生 dont take new patients anymore?!?!
刚发现怀了,想约一个victoria的医生, when I called the royal victoria hospital 妇产科医生电话 843-1603

The person who answered the phone asked me "are you pregnant", "how long r u pregnant" and told me "we dont have more room to take new patients"

I have 2 questions :

1. can docotor refuse taking pregnant patients?
2. if they dont have more room, why the person asked the questions above before telling me they dont take new ones? she can just tell me that without asking any questions... Is there some rules that they pick patients?

你什么时间怀孕的？怀孕多久？有没有约过妇产科医生？有没有从怀孕开始第四周就与妇产科医生保持联系和定期检查？现在是要准备生了吗？是在联系生的医院吗？如果是，你的妇产科大夫就指定告诉你，你们准备在哪里生。

怀孕多久？- by now, around 7weeks

有没有约过妇产科医生？- no, that was why i called Victoria

有没有从怀孕开始第四周就与妇产科医生保持联系和定期检查？- sure no, i confirmed my pregnancy 2 weeks ago and went to see my family doctor yesterday she gave me a referral to get an OB from Victoria.....and I called... the things I mentioned happened....

现在是要准备生了吗？是在联系生的医院吗？如果是，你的妇产科大夫就指定告诉你，你们准备在哪里生。-- so far, what I want is having an OB from victoria

What can I do if they dont take me?

据我所知，一般他是不接受自己找上门的病人的，应该有其他诊所、CLSC之类的把你refer过去。

你有没有告诉royal vic是你得family doctor refer你来得？

你一定要在royal vic. 生吗? 听说那里的设施很旧不怎么好...有的OB可能是不收新病人了. 如果你约不上那个产科医生, 可以问你的general doctor再要几个号码, 他们应该有OB的list, 现在应该不是那么难约的.

Whats the big deal about royal victoria hospital? as if its the ONLY place where you could get a decent childbirth. just good for you to know, there are 10 other hospitals on the island and in each and every one of them you could find an experiened obstetrician. all u need to do is OPEN UP YOUR MIND. Btw, your family doctor did refer you to see an obstetrician, but its up to you to decide which one. so just go for the one you feel more comfortable with and where they have a spot:p

you are right, Royal V is not a big deal, what I concern is getting a doctor that I am comfortable with as your said. I had one 2 years ago(he is with st. mary), that was a horrible experience.....

so far what I heard is the doctors in Royal V are pretty nice, so that is why I prefer there. If I can get a nice doctor, for sure I dont mind which hospital he/she with.....but but, how can I get one???

if I just call them one by one, how can I make sure of this?

could experienced people share some information of how to find an OB and is there some OB that you think good can refer to me???

yes, i told them, they said "you gotta go back to your doctor let her refer you to other place", by the way, they said there were not OBs available in this hospital, not only the doctor I asked for...

正常最近生宝宝的多到爆

你可以找家庭医生再帮你refer 之前你最好自己先打电话问清楚你要的医生是不是有空位然后再让家庭医生写条

how come? another round babyboomer? my family doctor gave me the refer letter already, only thing left is finding an OB...
