Thanks, Don and all. I also consulted some friends, seems that buying a new car for the very first time is not a good idea, especially the winter of Montreal can be quite challenging to a novice. I checked some online local dealers, seems that I better buy off a 2000 or later made Focus with around $7000 when I pass the road test, I mean, to start with.

Don, about power, sorry, I don't have sthg specific to express myself. Yes, I am picking person, so if I can't handle the car well, and directly cause some scrathes (which I am pretty sure I will), I will suffer a lot mentally, period.
About driving skills, I plan to first finish a school (already registered and paid the fee), then probably catch a good coach from that school and pay him/her for extra hours. When I need such a person, I definitely need your guy's help. Pay $20 for 1 hour with his/her car during the weekend, do you think I can make it?
