You can have a brand new decent car.

Insurance fee has NO relation with whether it is your "first-time-2nd-hand" car. It only links to your car make and your age, record.

With 600 month budget, you can get a 20K-around brand new car by paying 60-month finance. (including car fee, insurance and cheap gas)

Yes, but you need pay little bit more and need find those small brokers who are willing sell insurance you.

Yes, If you buy a car of 1991 or earlier, you could pay less than $300~200/year.

No, necessary true. What kind of 动力 you need? What kind of driving style you have? Did you drive before?

You can have a small new car.
Insurance + Gas: $150
Car Lease:       $450

After tax, those small cars are over $23000.
Protege5: $25000~27000
Golf/Jetta23000~$30000
Small Honad/Toyota: See Mazda
Small Am cars: Don't buy or lease new. Price drop into half in 3 years. There some new car worth to mention. Ford Focus is second best selling car only after Honda Civic but more fun to drive, more European style.

Or if you can wait few months, buy 马三(Mazda3), which will be a new standard for ALL small cars.

You can go to car show in middle of January, play with them before buy.

Thanks, Don and all. I also consulted some friends, seems that buying a new car for the very first time is not a good idea, especially the winter of Montreal can be quite challenging to a novice. I checked some online local dealers, seems that I better buy off a 2000 or later made Focus with around $7000 when I pass the road test, I mean, to start with.

Carman, I will call you when I am ready, see you guys around here.

Thanks again!

Don, about power, sorry, I don't have sthg specific to express myself. For example, I can feel the difference by sitting in my colleague's Mazda 5 and Civic, is it sthg like the horsepower which making the former picking up a lot easier, I don't want to get stuck in the snow with a some woman car.

Thanks, buddies!!!

Yes, I am picking person, so if I can't handle the car well, and directly cause some scrathes (which I am pretty sure I will), I will suffer a lot mentally, period.

About driving skills, I plan to first finish a school (already registered and paid the fee), then probably catch a good coach from that school and pay him/her for extra hours. When I need such a person, I definitely need your guy's help. Pay $20 for 1 hour with his/her car during the weekend, do you think I can make it?

How many people turn over their cars often? I may join a player-level someday!

Thanks again!
