WALKATHON FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE SICHUAN EARTHQUAKE
In a matter of three minutes, tens of thousands of precious lives were taken away by the terrible Richter-8 scale earthquake in Sichuan, China. Up to the present moment, 65,000 people had lost their lives, with 200,000 injured and tens of thousands more still missing. One can hardly imagine how devastating such a tragedy had brought upon the people on the other side of the world.
The numerous pictures and film clips shown in the media, newspapers and websites have left us speechless and anguished. Tormented by a feeling of helplessness, we can only be crying over the horrendous plight of the victims, while praying for their loved ones.
The Walkathon for the Victims of Sichuan Earthquake aims to express our sympathy for the victims, as well as our solicitude and encouragement for those lucky survivors. It is our hope that the
Walkathon on a bright sunny day would unite everybody and free us from the sadness and sorrow that the heart-wrenching tragedy has plunged us into. More importantly, during the activity, we look forward to raising money for the Sichuan Earthquake victims.
The very nature of human being is honesty and kindness. In this global village, all of us share the same destiny. Together, let us extend our solidarity for the victims by our generous donations. Your participation in this Walkathon for the victims will be a source of great encouragement for all of us.
