Persons transporting a bicycle are asked to let the other passengers board and exit the car first. During the ride, cyclists must stay by their bicycle at all times and not let it rest against seats or any other métro equipment or installation. It is also strictly forbidden to ride a bicycle anywhere inside a métro station. Accordingly, it is also forbidden to ride a tricycle, an unicycle, a Foot-propelled scooter, a skateboard or roller skates in a métro station. It is forbidden as well to leave, permanently or temporarily, a bicycle in a métro station. It is not permitted to carry a Motorised scooters in métro stations because they are equipped with a gas tank, and by-law R-036 forbids to carry hazardous materials in public transit.
For safety reasons, bicycles are not allowed in the métro when certain special events are held. Please consult the list of events to come. The STM can forbid access to bicycles in the métro on any other event – planned or not – that could generate crowds in the system. The STM has installed bicycle stands alongside most métro stations for the convenience of cyclists.
