Yesterday, I and my son went to cross-country ski. It is cheaper than i thought. Only cost $45 for both of us including access fee and rent equipments. It is not dangerous. We were the first time to ski. My son learn it fast and like it right way. I fell down about 20 times, but i was not hurt. It is easy to find the location. Drive north in 15 highway, then exit at 55. Turn  left to Montee Ste-Therese. Drive south around 4km.The address is 2155 Montee Ste-Therese.

Just remind you to register the camp for school break. The camp registration in YMCA started at Feb. 4, 2008. IF your income is less than 14000, you can apply 50% discount. The camp in community center of Saint-laurent is cheaper than YMCA, around 90$ for one week. Good Luck, every single mother.

If your inocme is less than $15900, you can get Working Income Tax Benefit(WITB), Maximum $866(new one in 2007). Also, if your working income is less than $3500, you can get all QPP refund(this is in Quebec Tax ). If your income is less that $2000, you can get all EI refund.

I saw  CARI Saint-Laurent providing the income tax filing service from my son's school notice, price is $5 each. But it is only for the new immigrants(less than five years). I don't know the quality of this service and details. Their phone number is 514-748-2007.

At the beginning of April, it is the registration period for the spring and summer activities in Saint Laurent community center. please check your agenda and don't miss the registration. Otherwise you need to wait for the next year for some outside activities.

If you are new immigrant and the income is earned in china before landing, you don't need to report to the government. You only report the income after landing.
If you landed and come back to china and have income in china, you need to report the income in canadian dollars. But you can get tax credit for this foreign income (form T2209 for federal).
