Just came from Vancouver, BC and got the first paycheck.  I was surprised that I was charged 17% in Quebec Tax and 12% in Federal Tax, plus other deductions such as Quebec pension (5%), I have only 60% of my regular salary ($3333 for half month) :confused:.  The deduction is too high compared to what I had in BC (30-32%), is this a normal rate?  I have two kids, my wife does not work at the moment.  Please phone me at 514 8036333 if you have any sugestion.

by law, you should file your tax return to the province in which you reside on DEC 31.

in quebec, we have the highest combined fed & que tax rate, 48.22%, in north america, so find a way live with it.

The funny thing is, my salary is higher than what I got in BC, but the money I am actaully getting is less than what I got there.  Fortunately I will return on Dec 31, so I can file my tax return to the province I came.
