about "waiting list" , actually it's kind of joke with 圆明园, I found out hes easy goin person, so just say like that.
I should be careful when i put any msg here, pple picky and serious:confused:

yes, ppl are picky and serious for no reason. but you need not be "careful".  say what you want and organize what you want. it is something called "freedom".

Comments like:

have wierd logics in them.

u host a party and u have the right to invite whoever you want. It does not mean you discriminate all the people in this world who do not get the invitation.

likewise, what happens when you are not invited to a party? you go to another, rather than pull out your handgun and try to kill the host.

说实话，有的英文帖子我根本看不懂，不知道您要表达什么意思？可能我的语言还没有过关呢。 　想问问，大家聚会的话不会也讲外语吧？如果都讲中文的话，愿意参加。请原谅，只是觉得每天上班都得讲外语，想练习母语啦。。。:wink:

你是该练习一下了, 1. "讲中文"有点问题, 一般是写中文, 读中文, 讲汉语. 2. 假如你想讲汉语的话, 广东人"讲母语"有的人就可能听不懂.

ley's say your house is big enough for a billion people, how do you determine which billion people get in?
your mood or your personal taste? you discriminate due to lack of a standard.
on a first come first serve basis? you discriminate because either the media you advertise your party or the place you hold your party.
let's say you let all 6 billion people in, you still discriminate because some have better seats than others.

楼主提供的那个网址好像只是美国的500强，不是世界500强，象IBM这样的根本都不在榜单内。加拿大对本地的企业也有自己的排名的。500强这个定义给得太模糊了。
不过，这种聚会的提议倒是不错，希望不要光打雷不下雨。。。
