On a clean dry kitchen work surface lightly dusted with icing sugar, roll out some black sugarpaste so it's quite thin.
Using a small knife cut out a cloud / blob like shape.

Making the Cows...

Start by washing your hands making sure you have no black color left on them.

Roll a handful of sugarpaste into a sausage then chop it into two. These will be the cow's bodies.

Roll each into a ball and then into an egg shape.

Roll out a narrow sausage of white sugarpaste and cut into equal lengths for their legs.Mark the cow's hoofs with the back of the small knife.

Making the Cows Arms

Hold it up to the cow's body and measure how long you need their arms to be.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Cut and mark the arms using a small knife as you did with the legs.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>With a little water stick and gently press the cow's arms into position. </TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Give the arm a slight bend to the middle if you like. When you've attached the arms roll out some black sugarpaste thinly and cut out small blob shapes. Add them to the cow where you would like more black blobs to be. All cows are unique just like you and me.

The cow's head

The cow's head Roll a ball of white sugarpaste about a third as big as the cow's body.

Place a cocktail stick or a piece of dry spaghetti into the body of the cow and attach the head on top.

</TD><TD>For the Cow's nose / snout / mouth Make a small oval piece of peach colored sugarpaste and cut one side flat.

</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Stick the flat side to the cow's head using a little water.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Mark nostrils using a ball modelling tool.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>With the small knife make the cow smile. Great going!!

The cow's ears

Cow Modelling

Make it look textured like hair by using the back of the small knife.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Eyes can see you. For the cow's eyes make very small balls of black sugarpaste and press them into place using your finger

alternatively paint them on using black food color and a small paint brush.

make two eye holes with the ball modelling tool and pipe the eyes using a pastry bag filled with some royal icing.

</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>The cows horns Roll two small white balls of paste into tear drops. Dampen with a little water and place on either side of the tuft on top of the head.

</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>What's missing? Cows give milk...... yeah that's right! We're missing udders!

To make the cow's udders make a ball of peach sugarpaste and flatten it on one side so it looks like a bump. Stick into position using a little water and a press from your fingers.

</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>For teats make tiny balls of peach paste and place them onto the bump using a little water. It's a bit fiddly and you may find the teats roll all over the place. You could pipe them on using an icing bag and some peach colored royal icing instead.

Final Decoration

</TD><TD>Finally make the wig wags, the cow's tail. Roll very narrow sausage of white paste and squash one end. Mark it so it looks like the tassel of the tail. Attach using a little water.
