Hi Friends,

I have completed my Bachelor's in Computers and now like to indulge myselves in the Networking Industry. In other words , i would like to make a career in the Networking Industry.

I have been observing different programs related to Networking in LASALLE COLLEGE, DAWSON COLLEGE and HERZING COLLEGE.

Could anybody let me know or have any experience with these colleges in terms of QUALITY EDUCATION, TUTION EXPENSES , JOB PLACEMENT and LOANS AND BURSARIES?

Or Can anybody let me know about any other colleges which can be helpful to proceed my career ahead with the NETWORKING FIELD. Or where should i start from ?

Thanks Friends in advance.
You can email me on rufi24@hotmail.com

Thanks for the reply. If you know any graduate level colleges or Universities where graduate level courses are conducted in computer networking industry , let me know.

Right now my Friend, i don't have any information about the Colleges and Universities in Montreal. And that is why i posted my question here.

Thanks.

Thanks playjoke for the useful information you have given me. I really appreciate it. I will definitely consider going to McGill. But now i would like to know if there is anybody who has gone to these programs before and what do they say about these programs. Is it worth going to these programs and does these programs lead you to get a good Job atleast for an ENTRY LEVEL in the Networking Industry? AGAIN THANKS for the information and i wonder if you can connect me to such persons going thru these programs so that i grasp the idea.

And yes reform you are right, the teacher's level at the College Level might not be higher and only the name counts and they are there to make money.

Thanks.

Fully agree with Playjoke.

Do you really think any decent american or Canadian company will hire an "entry level" Chinese network administrator? Usaully the network administrator knows everything about the company and he is directly led by the general manager. Other network technician's responsibilities include providing services to both English and French speaking staff members and clients.

Me personally, don't agree with both of you. Entry level must not be a big decent company, but can be a small medium sized company through which somebody gets enough experience to prepare himself for a big challenge ahead.

And on top of that it is the language and people skills that do matter in these Jobs. I have seen people don't have very good networking knowledge and do not possess any type of CERTIFICATIONS , but they are working as a TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGENT only because they are very good or i would rather say EXCELLENT in language skills.

Hi my friend playjoke,

Well, in your company's technical department there would be for sure quebecois, but i know some companies in Montreal where Asians are working to give tech support and only because they are very good at English Language and providing they have some networking knowledge.

And yes, i went to the McGill Centre for Continuing Education today for the programs you referred me. They are actually non-credit programs offered in the evenings(part-time) and one has to pay for those programs.

Thanks.

Well, just to let you know that i have got selected as a TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGENT so atleat i entered into the Technical industry.

I am starting a new debate over here in this forum regarding "NETWORKING PROFESSIONAL OR AN MBA DEGREE".  I hope everybody here will participate and comment according to their experiences so as to follow the right path.

Thanks.
