If you buy books from Amazon, you should have submitted the customs tax, charged by Canada Post or any courier who ships your order, because they already pay for you in advance. If you want to order electronics products from US, mostly you can't because now US is restricting shopping websites to ship within US. So if you order electronics stuff from Amazon, it will tells you this can't be shipped to outside of US. And if your friend in US help you to buy the stuff, they pay their states shopping tax (if applicable), but the shipping destination still has to be US. You can go www.ecost.com, they have service call "freeborder" for Canadian customers to pay the tax in advance so that you can see the final price before take the order, but the merchandise is not very tempting there, just giving you a sense of how's difference.
No cheap stuff anymore. Online shopping is as usual as regular store now! |
