今天终于收到了VIDEOTRON的信,内容如下:
Dear Sir/Madam:

To take into account the growing popularity of multimedia Internet
applications and content, and to better meet your Internet needs, Vid閛tron
has revised its data-transfer policy.  As a result, your data-transfer limit
has been increased, and the excess-consumption rate has been lowered.  This
adjustment allows Vid閛tron to remain the company that offers the best
product and the best deal in Quebec and throughout North America.

You now get six (6) Gigabytes (6,144 Megabytes) per month of data download
(from the Internet to your computer) and five (5) Gigabytes (5,120
Megabytes) per month of data upload (from your computer to the Internet)
instead of one (1) Gigabyte.  In addition, consumption over and above the
allocated transfer limits will now be billed at the low rate of $7.95 per
Gigabyte instead of $20, a drop of 152%.

Despite the consumption policy stated in our service contract since the very
beginning of Vid閛tron's high-speed Internet service, you have not been
billed for any surplus consumption that might have occured.  Please notice
that 90% of our clients never consume more than the monthly allocated
limits.  However, to ensure better quality of service to all its customers,
starting October 1st, 2002 Vid閛tron will apply its policy of billing all
bandwidth consumption exceeding the allocated limits, as stipulated in the
service contract.

If you want to avoid exceeding the allocated limits, you can find out your
monthly consumption level by consulting the consumer section at
http://www.videotron.com at any time.

However, if your Internet use regularly exceeds the limits stated in your
contract, you will find that subscribing to the new "Extreme High-speed
Internet" package, now on promotion for the first two months at only $44.95
a month, is very advantageous.  This package gives you more speed - 4 Mbps
download and 640 Kbps upload (versus 2.8 Mbps download and 128 Kbps upload
with your current package) - and greater bandwidth, with 10 Gigabytes upload
and 10 Gigabytes download.
