＜求助＞Ｍｏｎｔｒｅａｌ這個城市到底怎麽樣？

There are so many Chinese can't speak French landed a job in Montreal. Most of them have engineering&computer background. You can find many in Ericsson, motorola, or former EMS technologies. It is quite normal. But it is really rare that anyone who don't speak French can be promoted to a Manager or even a leader position, especially in those big, localized companies.
In another word, no French, no future for your career.

For those who don't speak French but can still enjoy your life in Quebec, please tell me how do you feel when you are listening to a French broadcast in Metro station.

我大概就是传说中不懂丁点法语还能找到工作的傻人。目前还没到8万9万，可是丝毫不影响我享受人生。
西岛(Westisland)上，我的烂英文基本可以交流。这里是英语区，进downtown城要30KM.治安应该比多伦多的士嘉堡好。其它的就不敢说了！

如果就是不会法语,也不喜欢法语,那为什么要来魁省.为什么不回国或是去其他的地方?:confused:

跟你同感. 象AKCOOL在这一直说温哥华多么多么好, 我也不理解干吗他要把人生浪费在Montreal.

我同意你Montreal的确是非常有味道的地方, 虽然跟欧洲是不好比的, 但比去过的vancouver和toronto, 觉得从风情上来说跟montreal差太远了.

我也不懂法文, 在这里生活是没问题的, 毕竟在downtown或者岛西, 英文还是很通用的. 而且已经很习惯听法语了, 现在出门买东西什么的, 有人跟我说法语, 虽然听不懂, 但一般能猜出对方是什么意思,

经常可以oui oui merci什么的就混过去了:p .

至于不会法文但找到工作, 我也认识不少(这个论坛上有些人只会发牢骚, 他们的话不可全信, 你想人家上班上学/娱乐又做家务, 不可能老有时间上网的). 但是不会法文择业范围确实是小很多. 所以说不定以后还是得去英语区

这个找工作的时候有个这里的,pay也可以，移民嘛先干起来再说，人都说蒙特利尔双语说英文比说法语多，什么说法语是郊区，靠，我傻的也信。manager是难啊，就是涨你点工钱也不会提的，在本地法语人眼里我们都是过客，你学生在学校你付钱你是爷，工作在公司里别人付你钱你就是孙子，说不太好听，但是现实就是这样的。不会法语的人往往工作的话工资都不低的，没听说过什么低于20元一个钟的。乘着公司换logo印个名片想提一下title的事情，后来一想manager个屁啊，电话来一听说法语的还得forward，丢份啊。

You just remind me the time when I just came to Montreal 6 years ago as an international student. I was just like you, young, self-confident, full of curiosity and imagination. As a student in a English university, you won't really feel the language barrier. You can always have fun with your classmates, either Chinese or foreigners. The only pressure you can sense is the midterm, final, thesis defense. You are not really involve in the local society.

You don't understand it because we don't have the same experience here. It will be more and more making sense to you when you are approaching to graduate.

Allow me to give you some advice, go playing tennis, swimming, hiking, travelling, fishing, chatting, even poker with your friends, don't stick on the internet (I never did when I was a student). Enjoy your life as a student.
