My car has some small regular noises when i drove these two days, i later found there was a crack on my right CV boot, and some grease went out. I wanna DIY, and found there is a kind of bolted split boot available, can I just simply put this on the current broken one, pls refer the link as below.

If it already make noise, I doubt that the CV joint suffers leaking grease for quite
longer than you imaged. The boots seems interesting, if the joint is Ok, you can
use it at that price. You can give a try to swap on this boot, if the noise continue,
go to the garage to change the CV joint.
One more question, I remember you used to post a good post regarding engine oil, but i couldn't find it anymore. I still remember you suggested to use 15W 50 sth for used car, right? I am currently using
Mobil 1 10W-30 (Synthetic, Oil), should i change it to 15W50?
If you are currently using Synthetic oil and your car with lot lot of mileageon,
you can 15W50. It will give you a wider range and keep cylinder pressure
higher. If your car is under 200kKm, 10W30. If over 250kKm, use 15W30.
Mobil is a good brand. |
