The AT shift lock system or AT misoperation-proofing system [Tokai Rika Co., Ltd., (Aichi Prefecture)] is a combination of an AT shift lock device (with a key interlock) and a shift lever retract position (R) alarm device in one. It has the following four functions.

<LI class=hon1>Shift lock function for preventing the shift lever of the transmission from being shifted from the Park (P) position when the brake pedal is not being pressed. <LI class=hon1>Key interlock function for preventing the ignition key from being pulled out when the shift lever is not at the P position. <LI class=hon1>Cancel function for releasing the shift lock mechanism manually by pressing the shift lock release button.
