about marriage

Hi, there

I wanna get registered for marriage with my BF in a church, and we went to the church near our location, but the pastor told us we have to go to the city count to get registered. So I wanna know where we can find an available church to register for marriage. Thanx a lot.

p.s. I have searched the topics about "marriage" in the whole forum. And I knew Ameng recommended a church. But when we tried to call the pastor, we were told the number has been cancelled, and we went to the location Ameng mentioned, looks like there is no people live there for a long time. what a pity! So we really need some info about it, any help will be great appreciated.

I don't know how to register in the church here... but if you want to know how to register in the court, I could be of some help...

First go to the court for civil marriage (1 Norte-Dame Est, quite near to China town), fill in the form and give them ur birth certificates (or notarial certificates of birth).
Second, you will be asked to have an interview with them about 2 weeks after you hand in the form, one of you with a witness is needed for the interview this time. You can pick the date for the oath during the interview, and you have to pay about 200 bucks for that.
Third, go to the court again with two witnesses on your wedding day, takes about 15 minutes to sign all the documents...

I have got the info. about getting marriage in city court. But we really wanna get marriage in a church

.It is about religion and family tradition. You see, because the church we visited said they have no this service and we can't try every church around us one by one. So maybe somebody can provide us some info. about Chinese church or Chinese pastor. Then we can find a way to deal with this issue.

If you are Catholic, try the church on Cote Des Neige, just across
the street from the Thai Son Restaurant. I am sure they can help you, and good luck.

我去年参加过一位朋友在教堂举行的婚礼，那的确是隆重而充满浪漫的气氛，是很多吃吃喝喝的婚礼无法比拟的。如果有机会，在教堂里举行会让你们终生难忘的。
但据我所知，如果你们二人都是基督徒的话，在你们所在的教会申请就可以了，一般教会每年都提前预留一些日子，作为婚礼举行日。（一般在周日崇拜之后），如果你们都不是基督徒，都不信教，可以与一些教会的牧师联系，他们会建议你们租用一家小教堂，规模较小（如MUGILL 和CONCADIA大学都有），牧师亲自可以为你们在小教堂里举行相同仪式的婚礼。但是如果你们有一方信教，另一方不信，牧师一般不会主持的，他们会建议你们都信教之后再为你们主持。
这是我所知道的，估计你们是新移民，如在教堂里举行，可以提前通知一下，我可以邀一些朋友为你们道喜的。你们只需要多准备一些喜糖哦！

在ST-LAURENT市DECARIES街上有一家华人教会,我记不住地址,对面有一个YMCA, 去年我的朋友就是在那儿举行的婚礼, 很不错呢.
