basically, the difficulty level is similar to toefl. but there are more questions about vocabulary and phrase, and less about grammer. so you can not apply some "skills" on it.
even in grammer part, lots of questions are about how to use a phase. the sample tests are good documents because the feeling is similar.
the questions in vocabulary part are not really big words but they are not very often used. (as an example: disclose)
some people didn't finish the test in time, so please pay attention to your speed and time left. this is also true in composition.

I wrote the test in 15th,Nov.
The test wasn't so dofficult as I've thought before.and although I've just graduated from a high school in Beijing this summer,I got 405 in Part1 and 3 for the composition.Just take it easy.You can get it through.

i am not good at english too. my suggestion is ti practice grammer, dont lose mark in this part. for reading, read some short essays. the articles in the test is not long, but you need to finish them in a short time. for vocabulary, it is also a trouble for me, because the words are not very popular,. (the test is melab test in 1971). i think maybe trying to remember some vocabulary these days should be helpful. and also try to remmeber some surfix and prefix. they are helpful for you to "guess" the meaning of a word. the writing is a 500 words essay, so pay attention to the length of your article. 500 is much longer than in toefl test. do a test at home and make a time schedule for each part. finally, good luck.

1.structure is important than content
you must realize it.
2."How" is important than "what"
3.use all sort of "important words and phrases"
e.g.: consequently,nevertheless,in addition,moreover,further more,on the positive side...
.....
