i have just arrived here, and i need to buy a notebook, that's a emergency. But when i looked around at future shop, i found the notebooks sold here was all so thick and heavy, i don't like them very much, i prefer a lighter and thinner one, could anybody give me some advice?

actually , it's hard to find a notobook which is thin and light in most compushops of canada.

In my opinion , if you don't need it recently, you can buy one from china later this year.Otherwise,you have no choice.Some one will say buy notebook here is cheaper than china, but after add the tax , almost the same. But in china you may have more choices.

Japanese nootbook usually is smaller than Hp or Compaq ,  such as Toshiba or Sony.
If you can offer a little more mony , sony has both good capability and appearance.

Ibm looks so old ,  HP looks so ugly ,;compaq is ok,but the good model is not cheep.

Anyway , i give you a solution .

To get one of compaq
some model can be said good.

Acer TM223 in www.compusmart.com , shop close to futureshop opposite the Bay in downtown. Good deal only CAD1399, though it is not thin enough but have a good at it, can't beat the price anymore.

these ugly notebooks here make me very dissapointed. after a long time browsing, searching, investigating and comparing through internet, finally i make a decision-buy one from china.it really disturbs my plan.
