Part 2:
Strategies I can share with first-generation immigrant (I learned from my first boss)
Find out our own way with new technologies
All kind of new technologies, are great to us
English/French is great to us, but we have to admit, they are not our strongest point!!
Knowing yourself, we have strong technologies background, especially we have strong math and logical skills...we can work hard also, but not just that!!
Again, we were one of greatest students before, we had great successful before...
We are the same, showing up some old books (We used and familiar with like FoxPro, C Programming, and …)
Points: We are the same, background, but we need upgrade and catch up with new Technologies
IT and Internet are new to everyone!!
J2EE is a huge framework, supported by IBM, Sun, Oracle, SAP.
Like 30's Car Industry, Standardize and component-based, network, framework are all on the hot spots in the enterprise application level
Part 3:
My Today’s Main Points
Focus on your strongest points; forget your weakness, like age, language, communication skills (There is no cheating from computer language, please talk to computer with computer-languages, like Java/J2EE!!)
Stand up and up, and never give up (We are the first generation! We have to overpay for almost everything, but we want thrive eventually!
IT industry (Especially Computer Software providing service) still in brighten spot with very good future
Make your right decision at right time (World is changing so fast, we have to hold it with your talent)
Java will replace C/C++ to controls 21s, exactly like C in 20s eventually for all enterprise applications
To being professional, like NBA professional sports man, you need practice everyday, every hour! Practice make perfect
Explain more:
Tian Shi: (Part I: The part which we can NOT control)
North Americalace Economic,
Interest Rate
IT Environment
All of these are good for us, thanks God!! The best I haven’t seen in the past 10 years!!
Di Li: (Part 2: The part between I and III) (You own team)
Carefully select your team members, friends who can support you, who can give you energy
More you get, longer you can keep in the dark tunnel!!!
Ren He: (Part III: The part which you can control, or do something!)
Yourself: (English/French, Communication/Interview skills, and IT experience matching with industry need, hand-on working experience and your own personality (Timing control and stress management)
Again, Internet is the driver to whole world, but Java, as a networking language, easier to learn, and support...
1. Multiple Platform, from Mainframe, UNIX to cell phone...
2. Huge packages, libraries, Frameworks, to fulfill our dreams with do more with less customized code.
3. More and more system integrity, complexity, need more and more professional guys to join...
