I don't think you have to report your 2006 tax return since you and your wife are not in Canada/Quebec on Dec 31,2006.
for you question:
1. u can ask some professional to do it or u can alway use online program to file your tax reuturn (quick tax or Ufile, I have tried. both are very good, but ufile is cheaper). you have to pay only when your income is more that a limit (please see their web site www.quicktax.ca / www.ufile.ca for details).
2. if you no a permanent resident, you don't have to report.
3. your child benefit is calculate base on your previous year's income.
4. u can file after the deadline. and two thing can happen:
1) if you need to pay taxes, you will be charged with interest and possibly penalty too.
2) you received tax return from gouv. this case, you will receive you cheque with interest.
please note that if you report tax return, and your income is not too high, you should receive tax credit from gouv too. |
