Hi,

I came to Montreal as visitor last September and apply family class immigration within Canada. Can I apply for tax credit?

I am not sure if you can. But your spouse who is landed immigrant could apply. However if the family net income is over 28k, neither of you are eligible.

Hi, I'm positive you can get tax credit if you have children. You also can get tax benefits for your children. I was in the same situation 10 years ago. But you must claim your income tax, even if you do not have any income.
