Pls give me some kindly advice concerning as follows:
Recently, I'm trying to hunt for a minvan from a dealer. I'd like to know which creditable garage should be accepted to take the inspection before i decide to get the selected used car.

You should go to the dealer for the inspection, they know thier cars as well as car's recall history, problem bulletin, etc. In other words, they know thier cars' weakness.
of course, you will not do it at that dealer you will buy from. Your second choise is Canadian Tires, they do a generic inspection. Both above are not expensive $75 ~ $95. The price is fair cuz it need more than 1 hour.

Or you can go to Phil's garage at west island, which is recommanded by Folks, sounds a very good garage, worthes a trial.  You can search the old BBS for its address. It has same rate as above.

If you are buying USED minican, be careful of Chrysler and Ford.

Thanks a lot for your prompt responding and kindly advice.
How do you think about the Mercury minvan (93, 158000km, $3400) in suspect nice condition for ten years usage? a little bit rust spots on the hood, very neat upholstery, cant believe its after ten years usage!
The 4 wheel disc brakes and muffler need to be replaced. whats the damage for both of them including labour?

I guess it is mercury Villager, which was build by Nissan; You can find lot of similarity between this car and old Nissan Quest.

It is not a popular van, but it is Ok. The one you found probably come from a old person who had done less abuse to the van. Any way, you still need an independant inspection and ask the technician for a road test.

The repairment you asked, is about $400.

Got it, thanks more for Don's professional and even gratis helps which made me more confident especially! I am supposed to verify the real owner of the remarked Van from the dealer and other channels. Anyway, Its my luck if both of following your advice and what you assumed is truth.

Yes, thier minivans are notoriously build-quality. If you have one, drive gently, don't force the van with harsh manipulation.
