Hatch is currently looking for a few part time/occasional technical Translators with the ability to translate documents from/to Mandarin and English.

Identification

Activity sector: All
Immediate supervisor: Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer


Principal functions:

·Translation of technical documents (Chinese Mandarin to/from English);
·Review documents;
·Electronic and paper filing;


Qualifications, competencies and required abilities

Qualifications

Education:
· Currently studying for Bachelor’s degree or higher in process, chemical, metallurgical, or mechanical engineering or other relevant technical field.
· Chinese education would be considered an asset.

Experience:
· Experience in an engineering firm is considered an asset
· Perfectly bilingual (written and spoken). Written English is essential.


Competencies:
Ability to meet deadlines set by supervisor. Priority of work must be followed to ensure project time lines and schedules
· Use good judgment to ensure accuracy and consistency of work – particularly across project and process areas.

Communication :
· Ability to receive, utilize and transmit diverse information and directly interface with project staff.


Attributes:
· Ability to work under pressure and capable of solving problems without constant oversight by project management;
· Motivated and a team player;
· Ability to hold all project information confidential (Signing of Confidentiality Agreement will be required);
· Self-sufficient and versatile;
· Interested in accomplishing new challenges in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Salary:
Approximately 15$/h depending on experience and education
