Unfair Deal of Imperial Tobacco Company Products
As of November 1st 2010, Imperial Tobacco Company (ITCO) has embarked the new Preferred Pricing Program, which sets the price ceilings on ITCO products.
ITCO offers this new policy to select retailers and large corporate stores, creating price inequalities amongst convenience stores. This is disadvantageous to non-selected stores, which will not receive the same price benefits from ITCO.
Only the select stores receive ITCO benefits, such as reduced pricing on ITCO brands, while non-selected, small corner stores continue to pay higher prices for the exact same products. As a result, non-selected, small corner store retailers are forced to increase the price of the products. ITCO removes effective price competition.
This unfair discrimination between stores has forced retailers to sell ITCO products by sacrificing their own profit margin, hurting many family-run corner stores and sometimes even forcing business closure.
We completely oppose the ITCO Program.
Thankfully, we have found comparable products to offer our customers that provide similar taste and quality. Please ask our clerks - we will gladly answer any questions you may have.
We hope to keep serving you as our valued customers.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support for your neighbourhood corner stores.
