I failed the vision test (for driving) and the SAAQ asks me to find optometrist to check eyes and prescribe new glasses. The pair I am wearing was from Hong Kong, 2002. I am a housewife, and my husband just starts his new job and not yet passed probation (==> can't expect to be covered with employee health insurance). I have no private insurance and I am very shortsighted.& T) C: U O ?* y5 e, R

I heard that checking eyes only costs CAD$45, the lenses/glasses is extremely expensive here. Can anyone share your experience of prescribing eyeglasses, which optican is best/value-for-money. (p.s. I live in Brossard, but in shops where opening hours are long/near metro station, i am willing to go to Montreal to have one). Does the shop offer gurantee like vision examination precison?
