收到concordia大学cs专业的ad, 开始是email通知, 后来来了一封信, 不过信的内容和email一模一样, 信上要我参加celdt考试, 可是我已经有toefl成绩了. 即使这样, 信上也没说怎么注册这个考试, 还有, 信上也没提学费的事. 我想问一下, 这个是正式的offer吗? 以后还会有信来吗? 看了这信我一头雾水, 什么都没交代清楚, 叫我怎么去注册啊?

我是05年1月入学的,我有toefl成绩,不用考了,你是不是寄材料的时候没有toefl复印件?你可以找advisor,我以前申请的时候问清楚advisor的,他说toefl过了就不用读语言,我是开学了才听说有那个考试的,好运咯!

其实我最想问的是: 给我的这封信是正式offer吗? 这信上什么都没说, 就告诉我录取了,要考试. 但是如何入学, 如何注册这个考试, 什么时候去考试, 这些问题都没说, 我想是不是还有第二封信来说说这些细节, 还是, 这个就是正式的了, 以后只要直接去上学就行了?

I used toefl apply for cs and also receive the letter to ask me ake celdt, I destroy the letter, and now I directly take engl courses. some my friend who has toefl went to take celdt,the result is many of them have to study esl course. So this school just give you a trap and hope you jump inside, so never take celdt test if you have toefl.
but now encs department change the policy, which is all engineer and cs student...

ENCS 272 Composition and Argumentation for Engineers

All students must meet a University Writing Skills Requirement before completing 30 credits. Your student record will indicate if you have already met this requirement. In the past, this requirement was met by either passing the University Writing Test or by taking a sequence of English or French Courses.

Students in Engineering and Computer Science may now meet the University Writing Skills Requirement by either obtaining a grade of C- in the new course ENCS 272 Composition and Argumentation for Engineers, or by writing and obtaining C- in a challenge exam for this course. The first opportunity for ongoing students to write the challenge exam will be in late August and again in early September of 2005. Note that ENCS 272 will generally not be counted towards a student’s engineering degree.

Further information will be forthcoming throughout the summer.

不是offer,就是让你考试，看考试结果再说。办理考试登记，去L-185号，student service,办理。

你有toefl，按说是不用再考的。不过还是要看你toefl是不是有高分。

谢谢大家, 楼上说这个不是offer, 那是不是说: 如果我英语考得不好, 就相当于预科, 只有过了他的esl才能上master的课?
还有, 怎么才能不考他的考试? 我给系里的小蜜写了信, 她说这个考试是非要考的. 怎么才能免去呢?

master， 不以考试成绩作为录取标准，只是看你以后还要选几门英语课。
