以上可能含有沙门氏菌(Salmonella)的不合格产品在安省、魁省及大西洋省都有出售,请消费者勿食。沙门氏菌能够引起严重的胃部痉挛、腹泻、发烧和恶心。虽然不足以引起致命,但是能够使年轻人和老年人致死,以及丧失免疫功能。

OTTAWA, February 2, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Les Aliments Aquafuchsia Foods <ABBR title=Incorporated>Inc.</ABBR> are warning the public not to consume certain Aquafuchsia brand sprouts described below because these sprouts may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The following Aquafushia brand sprouts are affected by this alert:

These sprouts have been distributed in Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these sprouts.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria may cause salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. In young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, salmonellosis may cause serious and sometimes deadly infections. In otherwise healthy people, salmonellosis may cause short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
Les Aliments Aquafuchsia Foods <ABBR title=Incorporated>Inc.</ABBR>, Rigaud, Québec is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The <ACRONYM title="Canadian Food Inspection Agency">CFIA</ACRONYM> is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
