who can tell me how to upgrade memory of dell dimention4400?
my dell has 128m mem, can i just buy a whatever brands of 256m put it on slot or i have to buy from dell?
another question is (128m+128m),(128m+256m )or 256m which combination has the best
performance?

first,check the speed of your memory and ensure whether it is pc100 or pc133, i suggest you go to dell's website and find your tech specification of your model.
second,check the size of your memory, whether it is 144pin or 168pin, you can also find it on dell's site.
third, you don't need to buy memory from dell, any memory which is identical in speed and size is ok, buy from futureshop for more guarantee.
fourth, check your dell's manual to see whether its motherboard supports memory over 256M, cuz there are some old models which can identify memory over 256M, so that will be your nightmare.

performance depends on the matchup of memory, so the best solution for you is to plug off your memory and take it to futureshop and have the tech people there find the best one for you.
