You can practice on your own in the early morings of saturday or sunday because there are fewer cars on highways. You can drive slow and get used to reading the signs. Do not forget bring a map or GPS with you. Once you are familiar with the highway and the exits you will be confident to drive everywhere. I practised driving this way before.

7Quebec

I did it in this way, I practiced by myself in the eary morning of saturday or sunday four years ago. Normally I merged into 540 highway from Ch. Quatre-Bourgeois. I believe it is the best route to practice highway driving in Quebec city. I always suggest my friends to do this.
