DRAFTSPERSON (MECHANICAL)



ROLE



This person will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Sales and others prepare engineering documents and representations to facilitate and support project and sales projects.



DETAILS



The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Preparation of engineering drawings. Such drawings will be prepared in compliance with generally accepted drafting standards and in compliance with clients requirements and company standards.
  
• Research and collect designs from sources such as past designs, other engineering offices and collate designs into uniform wholes.
  
• Minor design work for peripheral components associated with installations of powerhouse.
  
• Preparation of procedures, manuals and inspections forms for site installation activities.
  
• Preparation of specifications and documents for equipment fabrication
  
• Preparation of layouts and graphics for sales proposals
  
• Maintaining proper drawing control including revisions management and files management.
  

SKILLS

• Demonstrated knowledge of drafting standards
  
• Extensive knowledge of both standard and parametric CAD software
  
• Knowledge of mechanical design and mechanical components
  
• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes, in particular of welding processes and standards
  
• Knowledge of hydraulic system design
  
• Knowledge of piping design and piping standards
  
• Knowledge of electrical schematic drawing preparation
  
• Ability to write technical documents in English
  
• Ability to produce technical documents through manipulation of Microsoft office tools
  
• Demonstrated organization skills
  

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of UNIGRAPHICS and AUTOCAD packages
    
  • Has been involved in the preparation of hydropower plant layouts
    
  • Multiple years of drafting experience
    
  • Can prepare both mechanical and electrical drawings

  • Strong knowledge of parametric CAD packages
    
  • Strong knowledge of AUTOCAD
    
  • Involved with the preparation of industrial layouts for large industrial installations such as thermal power plants, steel plants, etc.
