Looking for highly competent and experienced professional piano teacher with track record of grooming students for competitions to help me prepare for international piano competition in 2008.

I am studying piano pedagogy and performance with a teacher in the West Island. I know she has students winning competitions too (some very young ones getting championships) and some getting very high marks in piano examinations. You can take a look at her website:

Hello Caribe2003, thank you for your comments.  But, how can one get in touch with this teacher Julia Gavrilova? I went to the  McGill website at

but her name is not in the faculty list. Perhaps you can help me with  that? In what location does she teach?

I have also heard of a concert  pianist called Richard Raymond, who is teaching at McGill. He seems to be very  good, in that he has won a lot of competitions and his students also win lots of  competitions. Does anyone happen to know how he teaches? What method does he  use?

I would highly recommend studying with both Dr. Wonny Song and Dr. Angela Chan. They are directors of Lambda School in the West Island. They are not only exceptional piano teachers, but also have helped my daughters win major prizes in competitions, and also get to perform at Carnegie Hall. My child goes through the special accelerated program, and the progress is phenomenal. Their students in their studio are all very serious and hard working. I learn a lot also from the parents of other classmates in their studio of how to help my child practice properly at home. Along the way, I learnt a lot about music and parenting as well. It was a very special learning experience for everyone in the family.
