Hi All,
as everybody knows there must be many chineses in Montreal who are working in the IT branch. However there is no organisation that gives the chinese IT professionals a chance to meet and help each other. I just have an idea to ground such an organisation to make the IT people's life a bit easier. The goal of this org would be:<br>
1)Give the IT people a easy way to know each other.<br>
2)Help unemployeed people to find a job. Basically to get the working people to reference the unemployeed person to their companies or something similiar. <br>
3)Knowledge exchange.<br>
4)Help people for their own business. Many people wnat to have their own business in the high tech area, this org could be a big help for such people regarding human resource and technology.
5)Organize free time activity to make the life more joyful.<br>
Since everybody is busy with her/his life, nobody would have enough time to manage this organisation. That's why I would like to develop a web portal to make everything automated, that means the portal would realize all the above functionalities without any human effort. For this portal I need help from you guys. Roughly 30 man days would be needed for the first version, if 10 people could join, that would be realistic to implement the portal (People would be part-time on it, it'll be working like open source development).<br>

It's a great idea to host a portal for IT personel here.Actually, I am now visiting Montreal for hunting IT professional to join my project coming up soon. Since I don't trust the resume fishing for good people, I'd like to know them first before I hire them. Your ideal will be blessed if this portal comes true in the future. It is bad to hear that you don't believe in people's CVs. I don't think many people will make up fake resumes for a project-type jobs. As far as your concern, you could contact the reference of that applicant directly to get some first-hand info about him/her. Also, I feel it mean to "scan" the guy in person instead of asking him/her to go to an interview.

Hope you will be more understandable from an employer's point of view.
