If you quit your actual job, un bit hard to get ei.
But in your case, you quit your previous job, and your actual job is a laid off, so it is eligible for ei.
Just in case, prepare some valide excuse like "working conditions that endanger your health or safety" as 太累 for your quit of previous job.
Keep in mind, those agents in "Service Canada" are the person just like you and me, they are normal person and pretty comphrensive for those people who lost job.
