Mariachis who master ska, punk, funk, rap, reggae, hip hop, cumbia, merengue, rock and electro... really? Mexico's Los de Abajo are living proof! Yes, modernity, Latin rhythms, politicized lyrics, Spanish and ska can rhyme! We knew when the entire Montreal Mexican and Latin communities headed to the Festival in 2004 and 2006... and we're betting the Mexican flag will be flying again when these dance missionaries engagé bring their cathartic and explosive show to the street!

By her request, she'll once again perform on the outdoor stage, for maximum mass-audience pleasure! It's a hot-hot-hot party just perfectly seasoned for the Festival's 30th anniversary celebrations! The beats get rolling with the Afro-Cuban All Stars, presenting faves and classics from the Cuban repertoire as well as new songs. Then, Cuba's Los Van Van, nicknamed "The Rolling Stones of salsa", turn the outdoor site into an evening-long dance party! Viva Cuba!
