The Moutrie piano originated in England in 1856 as an affiliate of theCollard piano company. In 1890 its founder, William Moutrie, relocated thepiece and later assembling manufactories to China, in order to meet the demandsof the growing number of expatriates in the Far East. However, piano's piecesand his assembling manufactory stays until now still in England and Germany, inorder to grantee his European market and quality.

All metallic pieces and hand-made hammers are made in Germany. In spiteof the majority of other pianos with wooden pinblock (behind plate), itsGerman-made stainless-steel pinblock (behind plate) present a sharp and clearresonance and also the great advantage of keeping the piano tuned for longtime.After a moving and tuning properly, you can guarantee its sharp and amazingsound quality for many years. That makes the piano extremely heavy, solid andstable. The lid uses hydraulic 'soft fall' technology, to safeguard smallfingers, ideal for beginners and children.

Historically, made around 1974 in England, bought in England as an anticpiano, from an old couple in 1991 around 11,000.00 BritishPounds. I immigrated and brought with myself to Canada around summer1996.
