99年来Montreal，2002年六月拿的枫叶卡。
最近收到美国公司的offer，要十月初上班。因为2001年到现在出去了100多天，必须到十一月底才够入籍时间。应该怎么办呢？（十月后妻子孩子还会继续住半年）。因为妻子比我迟5个月拿到枫叶卡，所以没法让她申请。
100多天有58天回国，其他大多是出去开会，这种情况能变通吗？

2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and ...

You have been here for more than 4 years, why do you need to wait until Nov. 2004?

Only 3 years stay in the past 4 years will be Ok.!!!!!!!!!

Therefore only 1 year could be counted for the first two years. And I went out Canada for 100 days. :-(

Why don't you ask your US company for a leave of one month? I think maybe this is the best way. Ask the company to allow you to stay here for one month. Then you can submit your application and go to the states. To think, you have waited here for over 5 years, why not one more month? Of course, if you don't care about the citizenship, (as far as I know a lot of guys don't care about the Canadian citizenship, at least in oral ;-)  However, I do care about it), you can just go now.

合法的是照楼下的作。不合法的办法是拿美国多次签证，从陆地入境美国，第一次盖章，后面不盖章，加拿大政府不知道。不过，被政府查到了就麻烦了。自己看着办吧。

For sure I care about my citizenship----or I won't bother to ask it.
The problem is that it is not me who does not want to extend the starting date. And I can understnad why they prefer me go there in October: Most prjects should be finished in the end of year. On another hand, if I go there in the end of Nov., then it will be thanks giving and then Christmas.

I called several places (Thanks Peter Pan), but have not got any firm answer. I will find a laywer and give it a try before I leave.

Also thanks for "tricks", but I think I will use a common way. I really like to stay here but the only problem is it is hard to find a job here.

It is wired that bussiness trips for Canadian companies will be counted as "stay in Canada", but international conference trips in Canadian Universities do not.
