Find a hotel in wanchai. It is inbetween Central:Canada Embrassy and CausewayBay for shopping. Both can be accessed by tram for HKd 2 only!
Find a travel agent to reserve a hotel room would greatly reduce your cost especailly it is in winter. As far as I know, the rate for 3 stars standard double room ranged from HKd 400 to 500.
