Dear friends:
Welcome to the Canada Day festivities!
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people get together on July 1st to mark Canada’s birthday and signify their attachment to their country of birth or adoption. Like me, you will probably celebrate with family members, friends or colleagues at one of 29 Canada Day sites in Quebec.
Organising committees throughout the province have been working for weeks to present quality programs aimed at entertaining you and moving you. They have spared no effort to make the day memorable and we look forward to seeing you there.
Canada is the result of our successfully meeting a daunting challenge. The country covers a vast expanse and its citizens come from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds and mind-sets. In spite of their differences, Canadians manage to live together in close collaboration and in a spirit of harmony, tolerance, generosity and mutual respect. Canada Day provides a prime opportunity to celebrate those values that are the true wealth of our country.
