Some non-musical street performances in the jazz festival are also fun to watch.
I saw a break dance show in the corner of St. Urbain and St. Catherine
last night and enjoyed it very much.
In particular, the dancer with a bandana on his head
was fast, rythmic and very sharp in his complex and difficult moves.
He always drew the most applause.
My picks of concerts for today:
BOMBA
An Albertan alliance of musicians from Chile, Cuba and Brazil, Bomba is a contemporary rhythm group taking inspiration from the grooves of the Americas : from timba to jazz, from rumba to funk, with plenty of salsa flavour, they fire it home with a forceful, vigorous message.

DOROTHÉE BERRYMAN
The seductive singer/actress slayed fans and critics alike with her first album and its exploration of jazz classics from the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s. This past October she released P.S. I Love You, a second album that fulfills the promise of her exciting new career direction.

THE THREE CROONERS
Long before the trend gathered momentum, these three Canadians - George Evans, John Alcorn and John Labelle - were crooning for the love of the music. Their brand new release, Here Come The Boys: A Canadian Crooner Collection, is a swinging addition to the genre.
