1) No matter what you thought, you were an immigrant at the moment you landed in Canada. That's the fact which you couldn't change.

2) If you label yourself as a real canadian and belong to main stream society here, why would you keep coming to this forum, a place for chinese people in montreal? and, using chinese to raise issues all about China?

Suggestion: Leave here and go to integrated with local people alothoug I doubt if they are willing to welcome a person like you.

i don't think u two should fight about it.

Chinese or Canadian, it doesn't change who u are.

U have ur own identity, and u know it.  If u don't know it yet, then keep finding it. Struggle. Adapt. That's how u survive.

Chinese or Canadian, it's just a matter of saying. What's so important about nationality?

What's a real Canadian? Natives? Anglophones? French? U ? Me? What difference does it make? U can't change ur genetics, can't change ur background, can't change what ur past has taught u, can't change who u really are.

So stop kidding urself about Chinese or Canadian. U were both from China, u both chose to come to Quebec, and u both come to Sinoquebec forum. If u really want a nationality, fine, u both are Chinese-Canadian, point, end of story.

With globalization, the world has become small. Small enough to contain u and me in the same place. Everyone has his/her own way of living. Boundaries of countries are fading. U can either choose to assimilate into others' culture, or conserve urs and share it with others, or isolate urself. When u choose it, just don't force urself and be something that's not u. Open ur eyes to the world, and the world will embrace u.</myselfian>

从我移民加拿大的第一天起,我就努力学习,求职,以积极上进的心态去面对生活;
从我移民加拿大的第一天起,我尊重所有的人,虽然我不信神不信鬼,但是我也不干涉别人的自由;
从我移民加拿大的第一天起,我遵守加拿大的法律,热心帮助需要帮助的人,生活水平提高了,在合理避税的前提下,积极缴税,同时也向社会福利捐款,尽自己一份微薄之力.
我相信很多华人都像我一样在生活,本地人也一样.加拿大是一个自由国度,这里没有谁是主人,没有谁是客人.所谓的主流社会,本身就是歧视的代名词...
绝大部分中国移民热爱生活,讨厌政治,需要帮助的时候,前有祖国的使领馆,后有本地的华人社团社区,我们不需要来自所谓"主流社会"的恩赐和施舍...我相信靠着中国人的勤劳和善良,再加上团结,我们自己的社区就是主流社会...
