Some information about the show of Hong Kong, China:
"..........
PYROMAGIC PRODUCTIONS LTD. KISSES THE MONTREAL SKY FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH "OSTCARDS FROM HONG KONG," A FASCINATING PYROMUSICAL JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE CITY

Montr閍l, June 27, 2003 - On June 28, the skies over Montreal will be illuminated by the company Pyromagic Productions Ltd. from Hong Kong, China. Their presentation, "ostcards from Hong Kong" is a captivating pyromusical tribute to this intriguing city where tradition and ultra modernism live side by side.

The Hong Kong firm has asked a talented pyrotechnician from Quebec to create this dazzling performance. With over 18 years of experience, Patrice Guy has been a fireworks designer for Pyromagic Productions Ltd. in Hong Kong for more than three years. For tonight's show, he has conceived a fireworks masterpiece that will help you discover the unique city of Hong Kong in seven sensational movements.

"Being a Quebecer and designer working in Hong Kong for a few years, I created this show to represent the people, the history, the traditions and the culture of Hong Kong," stated Patrice Guy during preparations on the launch pads at La Ronde.
During the performance, the audience will be transported sequentially from the ultramodern Chek Lap Kok airport into the populated Central District of Hong Kong, then into the heritage and traditions of its inhabitants, into Kowloon Park on a Sunday morning when it is filled with people practicing the ancient art of Tai Chi, to the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, through the exotic Mong Kok district at night, to mid-autumn lantern festivals and finally to the 1997 Sino-British retrocession ceremony.

"ostcards from Hong Kong" was created entirely for our first performance at the Mondial SAQ. More than 30% of the pieces we will use during the show on Saturday night were custom made. In addition, we took advantage of the opportunity to introduce four new Pyromagic Productions colours: lemon, grass, crimson and pink, " commented Patrice Guy, enthusiastic to participate at the prestigious Montr閍l International Fireworks Competition this year.

This majestic tribute to Hong Kong will be launched in the heart of Montr閍l to the rhythm of inspiring musical works by Jean-Michel Jarre, Vanessa Mae, the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cirque du Soleil.
Even though it is presenting for the first time at La Ronde's Mondial SAQ, Pyromagic Productions Ltd. is internationally renowned for its many pyrotechnical performances, notably at the prestigious annual Chinese New Year show in Hong Kong. Furthermore, it is a division of one of the largest pyrotechnical manufacturers in China, Hop Kee Pyrotechnics. Under the direction of Wilson Mao, Pyromagic Productions Ltd. benefits from a high level of expertise that extends through three generations.

Before reading the above information,
I didn't know that
there was so much more to firework display
than just some "bright lights in the sky".
It seems that in order to fully appreciate it,
the music is a big part of it.
I am told that a radio station will broadcast the music during firework presentation.
It might be a good idea to bring along a radio
next time you go to watch the firework.
I don't know which radio station plays it
but if any one of you know, please post your answer here.

Apparently there WAS a technical problem
during the final minutes of the Hong Kong, China display.
Here is a comment by a reviewer from another forum:

So, a magnificent entry from the Chinese team from Hong Kong, designed by local artificier Patrice Guy.

I thought it was a very strongly themed display with a good range of intense and also serene momements. These are important in that they give the audience time to catch their collective breath.

The choreography was very well done with superb synchronization to the music - particularly the segment when sequenced lines of comets were fired in time to music on a harp - the lines of the comets visually representing the strings of the harp. The choice of music was also very well done and got an A+ from everyone I spoke to afterwards.

Many very beautiful shells, particularly the multi-splitting crossette stars and the broccade clusters, really filling the sky. A pity the last minute of the finale had a technical problem, but this didn't detract from a magnificent display.

I heard some people say it was the best choreographed displayed they ever seen so much kudos to Patrice for an outstanding effort.

Finally, mention must be made of the Raddiena lovingly hand crafted by Toni Busittil and his son Clint. An amazing amount of work and a unique item never seen before in Montreal. Great work indeed!

Paul.

The best view is from the bridge:
not only you can enjoy the view on both side of the bridge, you enjoy the thrilling playground of the LaRond, you also enjoy the kisses of the winds and smoke; if you are happy, you'll cry loud to wake up the stars, if not,you can throw your heart  to the flowering river deep down.
