这位如果不是McGill CS出来的，就不要道听途说。如果McGill的CS和EE这么差，为什么MS、IBM、
google之类的公司都往校园里跑，而不见出现在Concordia？本科从UBC、Queen‘s过来的学
生不在少数哦。至于动手能力，比一比作业和project的程序量和难度，不就知道了？

这种学校之间的比较没什么意思吧。蒙大是法语大学，如果你法语没问题那里又有你喜欢的方向，
那去蒙大也不错。对于我个人来说，选校很重要的一个因素是看学校的招生标准，如果很严，意味
着不愁生源，而且可以招到好学生，进去后跟一帮平均水平很高的人在一起，水涨船高，我也能学
到很多东西。人家也不笨，不见得聪明人都打破头去竞争一个只讲理论、毕业后找不到工作的学校，
录取还特别难。

McGill的EE竞争比CS更激烈，尤其是本科，一般大一入学200人，毕业只有50人，其他人受不了
中途都转系去了。

对，EE的淘汰率在mcgill本科里是最高的。
大一入学200人，大二剩100人，大三有70人，毕业50人

I would say McGill undergraduate education is one of the best in the country in general. Whatever we see any ranking actually refers to undergraduate level. So... hard to judge its graduate education.

hehe... faq, u care abt this too much. seems you are away from real world ;) trust me, if you want to do reseach seriously (get Phd) especially CS in a good school you can be proud of and well funded... go to the States. I respect those PhD people. it's not an easy job. otherwise, choose a grad program most suitable for your needs, learn sth. you do enjoy and can put into best practise in the real world. Get solid working experience. A top notch programmer/engineer doesn't have to be a MIT graduate....hehe...  i love both $$$ and degree.  hmmm... i guess you are a future PhD guy.

我是mcgill CS 2001级的，2002年底毕业master。我说的只是cs graduate level的情况，我不了解 ee的情况，我也根本没说本科怎样。
回答faq: 你说ibm,ms到mcgill来招人，什么时候？请你点出被ibm招走的人名字来。 2001，2002根本没来，我是说cs的，ee的我不知道。 ibm最后一次来找人是2000,那时候好，全部都找走了，也就是我的上届。我没敢上躺，的确是loser.  
ibm根本不会去concordia招人，这个不需要说吧. mcgill cs的本科将就。本科和研究生是两码事。看大学要看专业，你要是mcgill medical school的ph.d，我佩服，要是cs的，我不会高看你一眼。
不管怎莫说，cs我就任waterloo，u of toronto，ms 和ibm到是每年都到这两个学校招人。 在u.s 也要看学校，兰校的 cs 的ph.d一大堆。 当然，都经过qualification 的考试，也很辛苦，但是大公司也不吧你当一回事。
至于ee, 入门门槛本来就高，淘汰率高是正常的。
还有，civilguy， 做人要厚道！！

i am mcgill cs graduate too...hehe.... now working to get $$$ for my mba.  yes, there are some big/small US companies including microsoft, capital one, adi, ni, taxes instrument, teradyne etc. to campus to recuit ppl, but i remember most are looking for undergraduate students. in tech bubble, some of those companies recuit 30-40 cs/ee graduates to the states. demands >> supplies of course, not the case NOW! i also remember at ibm info session in 2001, the guy from ibm toronto lab told us he graduated from concordia. ;)

anyways, laserjet's point reflects most ppl who have the experience with mcgill cs, but maybe not for those ppl who choose academic career
