Habana Café
Cuba, Quebec
Biography :
Welcome to a world where salsa is queen, where the wind wafts over the islands and where the sea provides an invitation to relax! Habana Café is a bowl of freshness, a balm for the heart, an irrepressible desire to dance to Caribbean beats.

The group consists of musicians from various places: three Cubans, one Dominican and five Québécois playing keyboards, guitar, congas, bongos, timpani, bass, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. They joined to offer traditional Cuban music, a passion they all shared. For years, they have taken obvious delight in playing the Cuban repertory, adding western pieces seasoned with Cuban sounds and beats. Their performances may include, for example, La Bohème by Charles Aznavour in a hot salsa version, or I Will Survive in merengue style. The group’s musical director, also a singer, is Julián Gutiérrez, and he adds his own compositions.

it is starting up again.
This time it is merengue.
