It is only for Chinese or who can understand Chinese. It also has been mentioned when EURO 2004 was playing. However, since you may interested in Final of Asian Cup, so I just post it again with some personal suggestions.
The software works in BT fashion. The more watchers, the better quality you get.
Download the software from http://personal.ie.cuhk.edu.hk/~xyzhang2. It will install (basically just extract) files to a directory. Then click the ????utable file (for highspeed version, it is cool_a.exe). It will prompt out a cmd window with message "lease wait...". Then just wait, and media player will automatically pop up.
There are something need to notice:
1. I am using comcast cable, it is very fluent. For me there is only 2 second delay. However I do know it is not that good for my friend using Verizon DSL. In that case you can pause (NOT STOP!)the player, it will buffer for you. Resume after a while(for example 1 minute), you get a longer delay, but usually better quality.
2. If the host in China works fine, it will live cctv-5 24 X 7. However, sometimes the host will have some problem. In that case either the player software does not pop up or it can not display the media. Be patient when you are waiting for the popup.
3. If your default media player software is not Window Media Player, then you may need to close the default one and open the URL (most possibly http://localhost:6789/1.asf) in WMP.
4. If you find it gets unusually slow, close both player and cmd window and rerun the program.
Okay. Good luck to get it work. I am watching "Good morning, China" now
Update
5. To make sure you have enough time to get stablized connection and buffer, open the software before final starts. So wake up early this Saturday.
6. If the media player keeps buffering, try to let it play. Sometimes it keeps buffering. Anyway, try everything to let it work. 7. If you go to website http://www.soccer-media.com, there is a Euro 2004 board. There are lots of links of online tv lives. Some of they should work. 7. If you use a firewall software, enable all communications for the program. |
