just a suggestion to Captain J
From Montreal to Mauricie, round trip is about 450km (consider to Mont Tremblent, round trip is about 300km, already charged $10/person), I am just thinking $10/person may be a little bit less, from a car owner point of view.
For a normal small car, the gas cost is something about $25 (this only even applies to those gas-saving Japanese cars), plus depreciation of car after a long trip, normally $0.1/km, so alltogether the cost is about $70, then if a car sits four to five people, the average cost for each one in the car should be something around $14 to $17.5, so from sharing cost principle, $15/person is more reasonable for a car owner. Please note that this even not consider the driver's four hour work behind the wheel.
However, if the passengers are the driver's friends, then it all depends on the driver how to draw the fine line, but that is another scenario.
Just a respectful suggestion for Captain J, may this move bring more car owners to join this happy trip. Wish all your success! |
