1) Dandelion
Leaves that grow wild everywhere in Montreal, with yellow flower on top. I used to have lots in my back yard. Europian use the flower to make wine. Blanch the leaves, i.e. cook it in hot water with salt and oil, add lemon juice and eaten as vegetable side dish. Greeks love them and I find it nice.
2) Cranberries
a) used in Jam, high in Pectin
b) make into Cranberrie Sauce or Cranberrie Jelly, excellent to serve with Turkey. Tranditional dish served with stuffing from Turkey at Thanksgiving and X-Max. (Turkey stuffing: Bread (crumb) + spices + giblets, check recipe book for exact ingredients.)
c) Cranberry Juice, found in supermarket, high in vitamin ? and "fiber". |
