真是很不幸哪，自打你走之后，MS和IBM又来了。

要说什么高看不高看的，我也并不稀罕别人高看我。别人看高看低我有什么关系？
特别是由于学校和专业来高看低看一个人，那更没意义了。你要是怨恨当年你找工
作的不顺利，归诸于MCGILL CS太烂，那是大环境出的。那两年IBM的网页上永远
写着没有openning，可是你要说让别人上CONCORDIA念两年，一年担保三四万，
那也不是事实，CONCORDIA有很好的学生，但普遍水平没有MCGILL好，普遍机
会没有MCGILL的多，这是事实。你自己也说，IBM根本不会到CONCORDIA招
人。最起码的一点，MCGILL的学生会经常收到opening的email，而本市的其它学
校怕是没有这么多。而且无论从作业的深度和工作量来看，MCGILL都是胜出一筹的。
别人是要信息，并不是在比较哪个学校的学生牛哪个学校的学生不牛。

你说本科和研究生是两码事，意思是MCGILL的研究生比不上本科生的水平。好笑的
是，另一个论坛正好相反，大家都叫嚣着MCGILL的本科生见得多了，好录取，就是
研究生见得少。到底哪一种观点对，反正大家都是爱挑自己喜欢的去相信，说也没什么
意思。我是经常听到说MCGILL的CS和EE很弱，甚至比不上一个普通大学的说法，
说实话，我曾经深受这种说法的影响，差点儿放弃了MCGILL。我也看到极少有MCGILL
的学生出来反驳，但是每年录取的竞争却是越来越激烈，系里的老生也说新生的水平一
年比一年高。

事实上就是这样，你认为这个学校差，那就不要申请，自有大把愿意来的人申请。你
认为到这个地方没有利益，自有大把认为有利益的人努力挤进来。如果认为CONCORDIA
cs读出来更有前途，那就读去。我根本不想说服那些认为MCGILL CS和EE弱的人：“来
申请吧，这里是很好的！”难道我说这里很好就能证明我自己是个牛人？我只是如实
提供给别人需要的信息，由别人判断到底要不要申请，而你说的，确不是事实。

我是mcgill CS 2001级的，2002年底毕业master。我说的只是cs graduate level的情况，我不了解 ee的情况，我也根本没说本科怎样。
回答faq: 你说ibm,ms到mcgill来招人，什么时候？请你点出被ibm招走的人名字来。 2001，2002根本没来，我是说cs的，ee的我不知道。 ibm最后一次来找人是2000,那时候好，全部都找走了，也就是我的上届。我没敢上躺，的确是loser.
ibm根本不会去concordia招人，这个不需要说吧. mcgill cs的本科将就。本科和研究生是两码事。看大学要看专业，你要是mcgill medical school的ph.d，我佩服，要是cs的，我不会高看你一眼。
不管怎莫说，cs我就任waterloo，u of toronto，ms 和ibm到是每年都到这两个学校招人。 在u.s 也要看学校，兰校的 cs 的ph.d一大堆。 当然，都经过qualification 的考试，也很辛苦，但是大公司也不吧你当一回事。
至于ee, 入门门槛本来就高，淘汰率高是正常的。
还有，civilguy， 做人要厚道！！

i am mcgill cs graduate. I love my school! having said that, i met lots of great friends from different departments during my school years. we still hang out together even we are working now. but at the same time, I have to say I agree 95% with laserjet's point of view according my experience. 5% is that microsoft was still recuiting ppl at mcgill at that time i got my interview, but very very few ppl can finally get into their seattle campus. I attended ibm company info 2001 actually, still remembered the guy from ibm toronto lab told us he graduated at concordia. my best friend in cs went to a US company in boston in 2002, but now decided to back mcgill to study medicine.

so... know what you want and just enjoy it.

It seems you and laserjet both graduated around 01/02.  This world is changing.

The difference between you and me is that I experienced two universities. McGill and Concordia.  I did much much more programming in McGill than in Concordia.  For the same workload, maybe you are required to finish it with a group in one and half months in Concordia; in McGill, you have to finish it by yourself in two/three weeks.  In Concordia, I saw quite a few phd students have difficulties in understanding paper; in Mcgill, even master students are required to implement the algorithm proposed by paper (not only understanding).  That's what I saw and experienced.  I did say there were excellent students in Concordia, but you can get more chances and thorough training in McGill.
